Dar-e-Nijaat, the ARY Digital serial written by Umera Ahmed, has become one of the year’s biggest television talking points. Lead actor Sheheryar Munawar shared a poster crediting the drama with 16.3 TRPs, described as the highest rating achieved by any drama in 2026, Siasat reported on October 4. The poster did not give the audience category or measurement period, so the comparison with rival serials cannot be independently checked.
The cast and crew
- Leads: Durefishan Saleem and Sheheryar Munawar, in their first on-screen pairing. Sheheryar plays Abu Bakar.
- Supporting cast: Nameer Khan, Sania Saeed, Saba Hamid, Sahar Hashmi and Romaisa Khan.
- Writer: Umera Ahmed. Director: Saqib Khan.
- Slot: Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm on ARY Digital.
The drama explores heartbreak, destiny and redemption. Actor Zara Noor Abbas publicly praised Sheheryar’s Quranic recitation in one scene and Romaisa Khan’s performance as Hamna.
Why it’s no longer on YouTube
From September 17, ARY Digital stopped releasing new episodes of its dramas on YouTube, Siasat reported. Episodes 14 and 15 of Dar-e-Nijaat went to the channel’s own platform, ARY Plus. The first 13 episodes had been available on YouTube, where the serial drew a large audience, including many viewers in India.
What the move means for viewers
At home
Television viewers are unaffected. Online viewers now need the ARY Plus app or website for the latest episodes.
For the industry
Pakistani channels have built global audiences on free YouTube uploads, earning advertising revenue along the way. Moving premium content to an owned platform is a bet that fans will follow, and that subscriptions or app advertising will pay more. Other channels will be watching ARY’s numbers closely.
